Parkland Health Center to Open New Women's Center
Parkland Health Center is excited to announce plans for its new Women's Center. Construction teams started work on the $2.3 million project, which is expected to be completed in January 2025. Construction will occur in six phases to help maintain diagnostic imaging and their current operations.
The project will expand women's health services and introduce advanced technology. We are adding a new mammography 3Dimension unit with stereotactic breast biopsy software, a significant advancement in our diagnostic capabilities. With the addition of another mammogram unit, PHC will continue to offer walk-in mammogram appointments for patients and online scheduling, ensuring your convenience. The Parkland Health Center Foundation will contribute a total of $203,275 to support the center. Their contribution includes the purchase of the stereotactic biopsy software for mammography, an advanced ultrasound unit and a focus on patient safety with a new stretcher.
Each year at Parkland Health Center, our breast health team serves nearly 6,000 patients in Farmington and the surrounding areas. With the new construction, we will double our capacity, and be able to accommodate 12,000 patients yearly. This expansion ensures that patients have access to the care they need when needed.
Other services in the Women’s Center include bone density scans (there is a separate entrance for male patients) and OB ultrasound for OB/GYN patients.
