Chief Medical Officer Announcement

By: Ashley    430 0

After serving for six years as the first chief medical officer (CMO) at Parkland Health Center, Scott Kirkley, MD, is retiring from the position to return to his clinical practice and focus more time on his patients.

Kirkley played a critical role in enhancing the clinical programs at Parkland Health Center, improving patient outcomes and fostering a culture of collaboration across the organization.

“The past six years as chief medical officer of Parkland Health Center have provided an amazing opportunity for growth and professional development for which I will always be grateful,” Kirkley said.

"Dr. Kirkley has been an invaluable leader at Parkland Health Center for the past six years, guiding us through transformative and challenging periods while advancing our commitment to excellence in health care," said Annette Schnabel, president of Parkland Health Center. "His passion for patient care has always been at the core of his work, and while we will miss his contributions as CMO, we fully support his decision to focus on the practice of medicine."

Kimberly Borchers, MD, has been named the new CMO at Parkland Health Center. Borchers, a Farmington native, brings over 15 years of experience in the OB/GYN field and several years of serving in leadership roles at Parkland.

“I can’t thank Dr. Kirkley enough for his leadership over the past six years. It is a privilege and honor to be following in his footsteps,” Borchers said.

In her new role, Borchers will oversee Parkland Health Center medical staff, guide clinical strategy and continue to focus on providing high-quality, compassionate patient care.

"We are confident that Dr. Kirkley will continue to make a profound impact on the lives of those he serves," Schnabel said. "And we look forward to the positive impact Dr. Borchers' expertise and vision will bring to our mission and community."
