Parkland Health Center is pleased to announce that Carolyn Gibson has been selected as the ICARE Star Service Team Member for May 2018. Carolyn is a patient access representative and has worked at Parkland Health Center and formerly at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center for a combined total of nearly 14 years.
Excerpts from Carolyn’s nomination read, “Our Star Service employee for May opens the department each morning and ensures that her coworkers have what they need to begin their day. She provides great customer service to all her patients and greets them with a smile. She strives for excellence in her work to ensure that each patient has a positive experience from start to finish. She helps out whenever and wherever she is needed without hesitation. She is fun to work with and friendly to all of her customers. An excellent face of Parkland!”
When asked what she likes about her job in the patient access department at Parkland, Carolyn responded, “I like the variety. I have the same duties, but different people and circumstances – each day is always different. And I love the people I work with.” Reflecting on being selected for this award, she said, “Never in a million years would I have ever thought that! I was very surprised!”
ICARE is Parkland’s patient experience service initiative and the acronym stands for the following values; Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence.
