Congratulations to Alex Robinson, RN, who was recently honored with a DAISY Award!
These are just a few of the sentiments shared by patients in his nomination:
- Alex is great at what he does. He is nice, calming, and he took very good care of me.
- Alex patiently explained things to us, and he made sure both of us were taken care of. It was as though my husband was his only patient. He worked tirelessly for our comfort. Alex showed grace, patience, and loving kindness to two people who surely needed it.
- He seemed to sense my needs before I told him, and he was very encouraging.
"I've already learned in my short nursing career that treating each patient like your own family member goes a long way," said Alex. "It leaves an impact and an impression on those you've only known for a short time. My patients also leave a lasting impressing on me. It is an honor to receive this award, and I will continue to provide the best care to my patients."
The DAISY Award was established by The DAISY Foundation, which was created in memory of J. Patrick Barnes who died at the age of 33 in November 1999. The Barnes family was awestruck by the clinical skills and compassionate care that the nurses provided for Patrick during the last weeks of his life, so they created this international award to recognize and thank nurses.
If you or your loved one had a wonderful experience with one of our Parkland Health Center nurses, we encourage you to share your story and nominate this nurse by clicking here.
Thank you to all the incredible nurses who continually care for their patients with extraordinary skill and compassion. We’re grateful for all you do!
