At Parkland Health Center, we've created a warm, comforting environment for expectant mothers. To further enhance our patients' delivery experience, the Parkland Health Center Foundation recently purchased new beds, as well as new couches and recliners in our labor and postpartum rooms. This investment will help us continue to provide a warm, comfortable environment for expectant moms and their families.
As part of this refresh, the Foundation purchased five new labor beds, ten postpartum beds, and six sleep sofas for a total investment of over $215,000.
"We are so excited about our new sleep sofas," said Lisa Helvey, manager of the Childbirth Center at Parkland. "Having a comfortable sleep space allows family members to stay overnight, which helps reduce their stress and allows them to be present and supportive during the delivery of their new baby."
