In late 2017, Parkland Health Center in Farmington was re-certified by The Joint Commission as an Advanced Primary Stroke Center. This is a two-year certification; the first was received in 2015.
Within days of the Joint Commission’s re-certification, Parkland Health Center was designated as a Level III Missouri State Time Critical Diagnosis Stroke Center by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.
In more simple terms, this means that we passed very rigorous evaluations by outside experts in the field of emergency stroke care and we were given the stamp of approval -- in fact, TWO stamps of approval!
What does this mean for our community?
According to Christina Rausch, RN, BSN, Stroke and STEMI Coordinator at Parkland Health Center, this means Parkland Health Center meets rigorous standards for treating the most complex stroke cases.
“We passed both surveys with flying colors, thanks to our very dedicated and knowledgeable staff and providers," says Christina. "Our community can rest assured that Parkland Health Center is ready and capable of providing you and your loved ones the care and expertise you deserve.”
